Movies are a great escape, but they can be a great learning experience too.

It’s surprising how often scenes from these movies —The Lion King, Storks, Despicible Me, Step Brothers, Up, Lost, and Buried— involve issues that are interwoven with estate planning principles.

As you might imagine, it’s difficult to find a movie scene where the characters discuss their estate planning objectives, but it’s easy to see scenes in movies where the characters should take estate planning into consideration. Here are just a few:

Estate planning doesn’t have to be complicated. Like many things, it’s important to simply get started. As you can see from the movie scenes… there are plenty of times in your life where it’s important to consider estate planning principles. Now, when you watch your favorite movie, perhaps you will see similar times when you should consider your own estate plan.
